Hello!
I have some other idea.
Could you add a footer design backgound like the no 46 or a page effect like the no 17 ?
It's important to put a box for the footer (social link, copyright...) Because it's hard to read if you add a background without box.
The background need to be soft and not too present. Just a little touch.
I how you understand. It's not easy to communication all the point clearly! :-)

It's really good!
I have some idea for you.
Could you invert the 2 section News and Updates - > My books.
Because i want more space for the news section, and some time, i will add a photo.
So, on the left section you can put 2 box
- My Book
- User comment
And at the right side, you can put a news feed.
OK, for the User comment box. What to do you if you make a design like a note written by hand ?
Note exactly a post-it yellow. But, i look of peace of paper with a personnal note.
I think this can add a nice touch.
Last point, the menu
- You can move the menu on the bottom of the header box
- Check if you can add a soft separate with a touch of color
