See the attached draft of a book cover. I love the picture, but the cover itself is not really catchy or any good. Your task: pimp the cover or design a new one!
I’m a little in love with the picture (you’ll find the original picture attached) because it appears as a description in the text:
“On the beach that looked as gray as the sea today, the buoy was the only splash of color on an otherwise cloudy day. It looks somehow lost, desperate, but also dangerous—like a symbol of the situation.”
But if you have a different, mind-blowing idea, I may change my mind.

Other “pictures” or symbols that could be used—in combination with the buoy or instead of it—are:
- a courtroom (US) with members of the jury dressed like members of the Ku Klux Klan
- many sheets of paper with unreadable data written on (the Virgin Papers)
- virginity (an often used aspect in the book—the MC is a virgin, the Virgin Papers are data about a bank in the British Virgin Islands, they meet a serial killer who murders virgins, they are able to save a virgin)
- the Truth Formula (it only exists in the mind of one of the protagonists, so it would be an unknown, made up formula)
- a snake (python)
- a golden key
- a spiral
- a red glowing point
- a dolphin
- men with black masks over their faces, armed with machine guns
- a dark soul with a golden glimmer ;)

Important! If you use pictures other than the buoy (in combination with it or instead of it), they have to be under a CC-license, which not only allows free use of the picture but also the free use in a commercial project! I need links to all used pictures, so the photographer, title of the picture, the license, and the source can be mentioned in the imprint!
