Síntese do concurso

I am looking for an artist to illustrate an elephant grim reaper inside of a room. I know it sounds strange, but hopefully the idea should be obvious ;) The tone should be serious -- doesn't need to be overly serious/dramatic, but not too comedic (a hint of comedy if possible would be great but since that can be tough to pull off, it's fine if there's none). No text (other than your signature if you wish to incorporate it), just the depiction. We'll brainstorm the specifics / details / peripheral images together but ultimately you have much creative license, as the only real requirement is that it depicts a grim reaper that is an elephant that is in a room.

I'm thinking ideally this will be a frameable wall piece, but a poster could also be fine, depending on what we end up with!

I agree with @Jonathan B. as it looks like a fishing project in water even the contest holder don't know what to hope for. Man hours wasted on the "Elephant Grimm reaper" Project is actually pointing towards a different elephant, The one which doesnt have value for time invested in hardwork ,even ignoring other projects. All the contestants are shooting at a bulls eye which even contest holder is himself unaware of...too late to figure it out..but this is the "elephant in the freelancers room"..may God forgive you.

You organized a contest with an idea. The freelancer's job is to draw based on that idea, and your responsibility is to pick a winner

but as Jonathan B astutely pointed out, the idea "just doesn't work"; therefore, we are indeed all losers!

"I didn't realize that I was breaking any rules of the platform." Be accountable. This isn't a charity platform. All of the contestants believed you to pick a winner - you even mentioned runner-ups. Even if you have changed you mind about the brief, only a decent human being would pay for all of the hours put in (especially those that made your changes). This is exploitation and you know full well it is! Be a decent human.

I did not demand revisions out of anyone. It is an open contest and anyone is free to put as much or as little time as they wish. The format and reward are pretty clear, and it's not like I deceived anyone. Again, results matter more than effort, that is the reality of the world.

And you're right, it's just a $350 bucks contest, not $2000. So I could just have easily questioned why artists are putting in so many hours of work for such little expected return? But I'm not doing that because I respect the passion people have for their work.

That's not the point. This is a contest. You should accept the submissions and choose a winner. If none of the entries stand up to your vision, then so be it, that is the risk you take when commissioning art in this way. The better option would have been to set this up in the project section and invite bids on the job. You then choose a designer and work with that designer to get what it is you are looking for. Then you can work on revision after revision. But playing several designers against each other in a contest, asking them to revise and put extra hours in knowing all but one will go away empty handed, is unfair on everyone except the winner. This contest has now been running a long long time. And some designers have worked their asses off trying to meet your expectations. I think you should be fair and choose your winner today. Maybe afterwards top up the money for the winner and do some much needed revisions with that winner so everyone else can move on to something else.

Contest holder please do not delete off this contest after all submissions are done, by sighting "security reasons" if not other reason... I learned "Guaranteed Contest" can be deleted by the contest holder ( it was a shoking new thing to me after 6days of work put in). And is not bound to declare a winner or even distribute prize money equally after 30 days in case of not having a winner.(contest #1813485. this after contest closing, submission, extention corrections rating waiting for result)... im sharing this after permission from the chat from the support staff who chatted with me. Requesting you Please respect our hard work.

There are even more ways to get away with a guaranteed projects, speaking from my past experience, what happens is one can create a fake account award him the prize simple. Or even if we report that entry freelance is just going to return the money to the contest holder and it is up to him if he may award it or not, possibly he will not. There are verry few who are genuine CH’s.

This is just a suggestion. But regarding the specs of this project, it seems only fair that it should be treated more as a Fine Art project. That is, either to accept or reject the concepts without the need of alterations. This I feel would be less disheartening for the participants.
The contest proposal is challenging and creative.

    Hello.
May I suggest keeping the contest open for the remaining time allocated (2 days and 23 hours remaining), and then proceeding on closing the contest, whatever the outcome.
This only seems fair for those that are still working on the project.
    Thank You.

I don't care if you don't pick me as a winner. But simply closing the contest after all this time just because you change your mind will not do. Have some integrity because we have done our part. I for one still have the private requests you sent me as I'm sure others do as well. Take this as an advice that was long due

    1) reminder: please reserve the comments section for clarifications, questions, etc. only -- no need to inform me of your submission, rest assured I will take a good look at each and every one
    2) I can tell you right now I definitely will be picking at least several runners up already, regardless of who gets top prize
    3) although I've sealed entries for now, I'll be getting them unsealed for viewing (and probably voting!) by the end of the contest period

You wrote this 3 weeks ago, yet you haven't checked anything, or rated anything, in a long time. Are you serious with this contest or have you chosen your winner already and are just allowing designers to keep working away regardless? I ask in good faith, is this contest also in good faith?

Hi Sir! Glad to participate. Are you ok if i upload a couple of sketches showing different "scenes"? Ej: Different elephant psoitions/angles related to the room.. etc.. ? Then, if you like a particular scene/option, we can keep going the work adding more an more details till the final art gets done. What do you think? Thanks!
