To whom it may concern, In order to improve CTR each ad group needs to have highly related keywords within and highly related ad copies as well. There are four main places where google attempts to ascertain relevance. Keyword to ad copy, Ad copy to landing page, keyword to landing page, and ad copy and keyword to display network (if its display campaign) Also, ad extensions can make dramatic changes on CTRs. Its not uncommon to see that sitelinks increase CTRs by 30%, and other extensions such as call extensions can raise CTRs by 6% to 10% . Those are my first thoughts about what needs to be done in order to improve CTRs. As for the ROI improvement setting bids based on ROAS (return on ad spend) makes sense and testing profit per clicks and profit per impression will determine which combination leads to higher profits.
