Unit: Risk Financing Stage 1 I have an IN-COURSE ASSIGNMENT No.1 –: Individual Report It’s a written Coursework with Submission deadline of 5/11/2016 No. of words: 2500 words Stage 2 IN-COURSE GROUP ASSIGNMENT No.2 –: Formal Presentation and Report • Presentation Submission Deadline: 09:00am Thursday 02nd December 2016 • Written Coursework Submission Deadline: 09:00am Thursday 09th December 2016. The assessment: Group Assessed coursework is in two parts. (i) The first will be an individual report on a real life case study, of 2,500 words in length, setting out recommendations and the justification for them, in the light of this case and your analysis of the position in which a bank finds itself. This report delivers 50% of available marks in the course, submitted to the deadline of Thursday of the 7th week [10th November, 2016, after the Reading Week] by 09:00am strictly. (ii) The second is a group work report, of 2,500 words in length, paired with a presentation linked to the first piece, delivering 50% of available marks in the course overall. The presentation (20% weighting) will be assessed by two examiners in the 11th week of the semester [8/12/2015] during the class’s normal teaching hours and students will receive feedback in order to improve on the report accompanying this presentation (see below). For the presentation marking scheme see the sample presentation scheme at the end of the module handbook. The written report should be submitted by 09:00 am, Thursday 15th of December strictly. The case study is based on raw business and financial statement data you have personally obtained from primary sources such as e.g. the FDIC, Thomson ONE Banker, and Datastream, and be placed in the context of the relevant peer group of banks and the broader industry. You should use texts and web-based data and discussion/material to develop you analysis. A description of assessment guidelines and procedures is provided below. Please note that critical, analytical content is required for good scores in the content of the presentation and report; high scores on presentation skills and group work and management do not depend on the quality of analytical content, however. Learning Objectives: 1. To assess the student's capacity to analyse a complex case in bank financial risk management and to develop recommendations from an analytical base, attending critically to reporting of facts and reporting within case material. 2. To assess student's capacity to work constructively in a self-managed group and to deliver a joint presentation in the context of a consultant/client relationship. 3. To assess the student's capabilities to organise material from deep study of case material in the construction of a document, in report style, setting out their analysis, reasoning and recommendations concerning a problem in banking and its financial risk management processes.
