Low Cost Health Insurance
Health insurance is very important, however expensive it may be. An insured person can get the required medical care without having to incur huge medical expenses. Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), all Americans regardless of family history and income levels can get affordable insurance. If you have found it difficult to find low cost insurance before, you can have more options now with the ACA. This act is nicknamed “Obamacare” because it is President Obama who is promoting it.
Health Insurance Marketplaces, also known as Health Insurance “Exchanges” or simply Marketplaces, were set up to provide standardized health care plans. Individuals can buy their insurance policies from the marketplace of their state or the federal government. You need to enroll for coverage for 2015. The open enrollment period runs from November 15, 2014 to February 15, 2015.
If you were covered by a plan for 2014, your insurance company and the Marketplace should have mailed notice to you by end of November. They should inform you whether you need to enroll anew for 2015 or you will be enrolled automatically.
Medicaid – Your state will decide about the benefits to be provided; but usually, health care is made available to low income families and children, PWDs or people with disabilities. Doctor visits, preventive care for children, long-term care, hearing, vision, prescription drugs, vaccinations and hospital care are covered in the services.
