Business Development Specialist

Our existing client base includes Adobe, SAP, The World Bank and Magento and we are looking to grow the business within our existing client base as well as securing new, long-term relationships with Fortune 500 companies. We require a Business Development Specialist with strong interpersonal and communication skills, a focus on organisation and enhanced multitasking abilities and should thrive in a fast-paced environment as well as being a great relationship builder. B2B sales, marketing and strategic analysis are important aspects of the position, along with exceptional negotiation skills and ability to close deals. The ideal candidate has experience researching market trends, targeting relationships and using proven methods to develop our business strategy while retaining marketing partners. This is a great opportunity for a driven business development professional that has agency life in their blood, is a natural people person and is motivated by the thrill of the hunt and win. Responsibilities and duties • Identify target organisations and key prospects with the potential to generate revenue and ensure a consistent organised approach to prospect outreach. • Drive the business development process for each new business opportunity, as well as growing business within the existing client base. • Understand the target markets and key prospects and which market strategies can be used to attract clients. • Conceptualise and execute local marketing events highlighting agency resources and innovation. • Attend events on behalf of Paperplane and network effectively to generate leads with prospects and secure partnerships with agency partners. • Maintain relationships with current clients and develop initiatives to encourage key partners to participate in prospecting. • Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning. • Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on corporate competitors. • Actively participate in Linkedin networking groups to achieve visibility and grow leads. Qualifications • Degree in marketing, communications, business or related field. • Five years proven track record in business sales, public relations, marketing, advertising or professional service experience. • Demonstrated success in agency business development. • Excellent organisational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis software • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to succinctly articulate ideas and deadlines, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and customers, in a clear and concise manner via written, verbal, project management and presentation skills.
