We have developed a chess game to play on PC. This holds both offline and online version. The whole game logic is written so as to perform well on even
slower processors. The game logic is completely written on C# .NET under .NET framework 2.0. The interface for PC requires a P4 machine with 512 mb RAM
to have better performance since UI is powered with themes for best appearance. This UI can be rewritten for hand held devices and use all the other
business objects as it is. Interfacing with UCI (Universal Chess Interface) engines is implemented. The various game type possible are Human Vs human
(online), engine Vs human (offline) and engine vs engine (offline & online). The online communication module is optimized to ensure better performance
and is written on VC++. The server is ready to host and tested.
