Visual FoxPro for the front end (handles e-mail, reporting, and data extremely well). For the back-end database Visual FoxPro has it's own native database and reporting engine, or if you would prefer a different database then I would recommend SQL Server Express (MSDE). The back end database does not really matter as Visual FoxPro is object-oriented and data-centric and can connect and quickly manipulate virtually any database that exists.

Hello, think VB/MS Access is best choice for windows. If we can use Excel, than reports, trends and graphs can be done using OLE/Automation and Excel. thanks, Dmitriy

Sir, Interesting project. Done similar work in the past. This projects fits best when it is built with Delphi. For database, for me it is not a problem to use MS Access or MySQL. I recomend MySQL. What I offer for this price. A good application with configurable options from GUI (for e-mail account and mysql DB (if mysql is choosed) configurable time for checking email account, Pie/Bar charts.
