Patterson House
Good Lord, the bliss inducing drinks are just the beginning. Discreetly located on the corner of 17th and Division in Nashville, the Patterson House is easily the finest purveyor of adult beverages I’ve ever encountered.
Bartenders in bow ties, throwback charm and an atmosphere that all but begged me to forget everything except the most excellent time I was having.
If I were top shelf liquor, I'd want to be used by the master mixologists in this Nashville wonder. Handmade bitters, wood-smoked cola and flaming orange peels are just a few of the tasties used to make the drinkable miracles set before me. But don’t expect to dictate the brand of vodka used in your drink. As I was informed by Josh, my personal bartender, “Why do you need more than one fine vodka when it’s already the best?” Why indeed.
To call the Patterson House a "bar" would be like calling Starry Night a finger painting.
Of the 50 drinks offered on the menu, 30 are original creations. The drink names alone made me want to try everything on the list.
Vincent's Ruin, The Jennings, The Tattooed Seaman, Real Foot Manhattan...
God bless them, every one.
And the food...Appetizers and desserts that change seasonally are designed to pair most magnificently with the drinks. Homemade potato chips, Absinthe Lemon Bars, Fig and Prociutto Flat Bread are some of the current menu items.
I must go back. I must go back now. See you there.
