Long Term Contract for Blogging - Automotive Industry

I am looking to work with a creative, consistent, and well informed writer to develop a first class automotive blog/portal. I hope to be as clear as possible in expectations, and if you are interested, please express your own questions or concerns. The ideal candidate for me would: • Be a real car enthusiast. Bike knowledge a plus. This is a tough niche to fake it in. Maybe you're just into sports cars, or trucks, or classic rides - thats OK! Looking for people that know their stuff - or at least know where to find out! • Able to keep up with other car blogs and automotive news. I'd like to be able to extend the blogs information to market analysis, rumors, etc. I will gladly help train on using RSS feeds etc to stay completely up to date. • Have an engaging, friendly writing style. Please don't be afraid to develop some real character and a strong voice. • I hope to find someone with experience in the general blogging dynamic - commenting on other blogs for trackbacks, engaging in conversational threads that develop on our own blog, etc. Please understand - I don't expect you to be doing SEO duties, or to go crazy trying to find links, but a part of this job will be reaching out to the rest of the community. • Experience with wordpress, or other blog platforms a plus. We will probably end up using a modified wordpress install with a gradual transition to an in-house system. • Availability to make at least a few short to medium length posts a day. I don't need incredibly in-depth analysis regularly - it's more important to stay up to date with general trends and exciting developments. • It shouldn't need to be said, but ORIGINAL CONTENT. There's no problem scraping a paragraph or two to quote or grabbing a picture in a fair-use manner, but, at the least, every post should be a thoroughly reworded summary of other content, and typically a real statement, opinion, or interesting bit of news.
