Modify GUI application for Linux

There is an existing GUI application for Linux, which displays a window with some text in it. It also already supports UTF8 and fullscreen display.
I need you to modify this application so it displays also some images (icons), which are clickable with mouse. You must link it to Imlib2 library and your work will be very simple and straightforward since this library provides all needed functions.
The application we're going to extend is called 'rofi' and it is open source task switcher and app launcher. I will want you to implement another mode similar to "run" mode which it already provides. In this mode, it will not list the available commands as text, but instead as icons, nicely in a grid. Few more commandline arguments may be needed to specify what icon sizes we want to display, etc.
Final result should look similarly to the screenshot attached.
