prestashop mail not working

I have PrestaShop 1.5.3.1 and updated to 1.5.4.1, when I click on "Test your e-mail configuration" I receive the test email.
But if someone fills in the contact form or buys a product no emails are received by admin or customer.
I have tried to use PHP mail () function and my own smtp.
I have diasabled and uninstalled "mail alerts" and installed and activated, still nothing.
