GUI Design - Desktop application

I am looking for an experienced GUI/UI designer with the following skills: 1. Significant experience of GUI/UI design for desktop applications 2. Excellent photoshop expertise 3. Experience of GUI/UI design for websites 4. Programming experience in Delphi 5. mySQL database design and programming The immediate requirement (Stage 1) is for a developer who can take a working desktop application and build a professional, attractive and well-structured user interface that is glossy and uses a sleek control panel. Items 3, 4 and 5 are not necessary for Stage 1 but are necessary for the follow-up work I’ll offer (Stage 2). This follow-up work will be to design another GUI which will bring together four applications, one of which is the existing application. The four-in-one desktop application will be replicated on a website, both of which will be synchronised with each other. Hence the need for someone with experience in items 3, 4 and 5. I don’t want someone to do Stage 1 and then find out they can’t do the follow-up work for Stage 2. Proof of experience in items 3, 4 and 5 will be required. The GUI required for the existing application will therefore be temporary but nevertheless it needs to be professional. The integration work with the application will be done by the existing developers. However, this may change. Therefore Stage 1 is to design a GUI for all screens of the existing application and prepare it ready for integration with the code. For your bid to even be considered, you must provide a relevant portfolio and previous work done on application design. Once shortlisted, you will be given a copy of the application to familiarise yourself with it. You will then need to provide a first draft for one of the screens of the application in order to prove your skills and to grasp my attention at your design solution. The contract will be awarded to the designer that I believe has provided the best concept based on working knowledge of the application. The application runs on Windows 2000/XP/Vista and so the GUI must be logically designed in order to adapt to these versions. Designers who can show proof of participation in a “Microsoft UI Designed For” logo process will be given preference. An important feature of the follow-up Stage 2 GUI will be that it is multi-lingual therefore experience with creating one GUI that can be presented in multiple languages will be of added value. Likewise, experience with an application that offers the user a range of GUIs (all doing the same thing and all multi-lingual) will be of special interest. If totally satisfied, Stage 2 will be considered. The budget for Stage 1 is $500 maximum. The budget for Stage 2 will be considerably more.
