Making the background image Pre-loaded in my website

I have a wesbite that has a carousel slider background of 3 images. I don't want to refresh this carousel each time i jump from one page to another. I want them pre-loaded, so when i go to another page only the content inside will change. Maybe using AJAX or javascript could deal with this. The carousel will remain there and the content will change through ajax. We can use Jquery or plain java script to acheive that . I am a software engineer currently working as a java web developer and can assure you to put my best efforts in it.
