I need a custom built LMS system for a music tuition site. The site has the need for a lot of custom functionality. I need someone to be able to build exactly what i need from a brief. I’m not a developer so any advice along the way would be gratefully welcomed.
This is my second attempt, so need advise on the best approach as the first which was an adapted WP template went horribly wrong as it wouldn’t accept updates and suffered serious compatibility and performance issues .
I need someone who is good at communicating ideas and a good listener and the ability to bring the ideas to life, creativity is key. I like to work closely with the projects so require full transparency. This is a large project I need full devotion until completion ideally not being juggled with other work.
I’m available daily so are quick to provide any information required and bounce ideas. I’ve tried to be as detailed as possible below, all of the main points are there although there might be a few small adaptations long the way to ensure user flow is correct.

Overview
- There are to be 10 courses, one for each instrument grade
- Courses are to be drip fed
- Courses shouldn’t be attached to tutors.
- Users can only subscribe to one course at a time, blocks need to in place to stop user subscribing to more than one course at a time.
- User has option of automated recurring payments, one total subscription cost and addition of voucher codes.
- Courses remain open until user cancels or opts to move onto the next grade.
-There are three levels of login admin, tutor and student
- All payments methods and upgrades are automated within Payment gateway (Stripe or alternative) so understanding of API’s is key, not admin involvement.
- Full tutor/ licenses commission display available
- Students receives receipts on payments.
