Life Expectancy Calculator

We have the statistics and logic required to build a life expectancy calculator, which given information about user’s current age, sleep, coffee consumption, wine consumption, gender, exercise and smoker status, can produce an estimated life expectancy. In conjunction with this, we have a number of interesting statistics about unlikely events that can happen during the average life causing an earlier death. For example, 1 in 20000 chance of death from a snake bite, 1 in 1000 of car accident etc. We require a these two aspects, the calculator and interesting statistics, to be combined into a Life Expectancy Calculator that will compel prospective clients to consider ‘planning for the unexpected’ and get an online life insurance quote. Full copy will be provided around this concept, including a press release and copy to be used within the calculator. The calculator should be visually impressive, with informative visual display of an info-graphic, with a graphical user experience (for example with sliders to set the values), and relevant imagery or illustrations along with the statistics displayed. There will be two sets of interesting statistics, 10 common (serious) statistics (car accidents, sickness, assault, work accidents, complications of childbirth) and 10 unlikely (humorous) statistics (animal attacks, food poisoning, unlikely accidents). A full list of these statistics will be provided to the selected agency after proposal has been received and selected by us. A random small sample of each set of statistics will be displayed, so there will always be serious and less serious statistics displayed at once, and each repeated calculation will have a different combination of statistics. After a life expectancy calculation is performed, a prominent call-to-action ‘Get Life Insurance Quote’ (exact copy to be provided) with a large button will be displayed. Requirements: • Should use JavaScript, preferably JQuery or Prototype/Scriptaculous. Flash, Silverlight or Java solutions will not be accepted. • Standard version should be exactly 660px wide and between 400px to 900px high • iPad version should be a ‘web app’ and follow the recommendations in the guide ‘iPad Apps with HTML’ (supplied separately) • Iframe or external embedded JavaScript solution so this calculator can be added to multiple • A Github version control repository under the Lifebroker account will be created for this project and must be used to store and maintain code Able to provide Request for Proposal document upon request. You must provide a detailed response to this project to be accepted. This projects design MUST be cutting edge and eye catching.
