Javascript Buttons from Array

I am in need of a javascript function that will build several dropdown buttons based on an array. I will need it to loop thru the array and build the buttons for indexs with a specific prefix. So not all elements of the array will get a button. I need to have the dropdown buttons to all have the same dropdown information ( will provide ) and to call a test function when clicked.
example array: part1, part2, color_part3, color_part4, part5, color_part6
with the example array only the elements with a prefix of “color_” would have buttons built.
