Scrape order statuses from an external website and return as JSON collection

Hi -
We have a function that has been scraping data from a HP order website for years, but all of a sudden thanks to a java update it no longer works. The function relies on a applet/jar as is, which as java gets updated, becomes unstable. So I want to be able to get away from this approach anyway.
I need to update the function to use jquery/ajax if possible to go interpret the site and then re-package as a Json collection as the pass back if at all possible. If not, I need a different solution that will work. Our server architecture is ColdFusion, but I'm guessing JavaScript or jquery can be used to parse the data and create the JSON collection for us to implement.
All in all, this should be a pretty straight forward scrape and normalize project. Thanks for your bids -
