I have a large music archive that has regular new releases that needs updating. At the moment I have to manually do it in excel (.CSV). I need this to be done for OSX.
What I need is to find the latest CDNumber in a folder tree hierarchy. I wouldn't mind the manufacturer and library name outputted in excel csv format.
Example Below:
Manufacturer_(Extreme) > Library_(X Series) > Format_(WAV) > CDNumber (XCD234)
Some libraries may have missing CD's or or start with a different CDNumber or may have multiple discs and may be named like (XCD124A). Also it may have different different lengths of Letters for CDNumber, and will always be Letters then numbers.
I would like "CDNumber" to be labelled "Volume". It's not essential for output for excel as column names, but would be nice.
Instead of a program/script, it could be a Lua script compatible for Soundminer v5Pro (where it's dragged into soundminer app and then it's integrated. it could be in the file tab as a option to run. You then drag the top folder onto soundminer and it runs and outputs the excel file to file.
If this is the method you want to go with and need more info on the soundminer V5 Pro app, you can contact Soundminer
