I have done my post graduation from IIM Indore in the Marketing & Sales area. I have relevant experience of sales as part of many projects at IIM. In one such real life competition, Rs 500 was given to each of us and we were asked to use that as a seed to multiply the amount by using ethical means. I had come up with a very innovative strategy of procuring orange barfi sourced from Nagpur and selling it to sell to passengers in trains. I used concept selling to pitch to the people and had a fairly high conversion rate of 4:1. Because of my out of box idea, I was the highest earner by a large margin in a competition where a large number of students couldnt keep the initial amount of Rs 500 intact. Post my MBA I had worked in CRISIL which is the leading ratings company in India and is a subsidiary of the reputed S&P. I analysed companies, met with clients and derived ratings for companies in my portfolio. I had the distinction of getting all my recommended ratings accepted at the committee, some of which were very difficult to pass. This was the reason of my very carefully thought out strategy of pitching my presentation and good execution on the decided strategy. I think selling requires a lot of thinking and planning which are essential for the artistic execution of convincing prospects
