Our company is looking for a Project-Based Database Developer who can help us create a mySQL database schema which will be able to handle daily incoming data feeds from an online property site.
Details of the Project
A property upload is typically done using ftp of a zip archive. This archive will contain a "data" file containing all the textual data, as well as a series of image files. For the database implementation it will be fine to store just the "data" file, with links to images as detailed in the specification links below:

First, we require a database schema that can store property data.
-Each table should in addition to the property data also contain an id identifying the object internally (for example, property_id as an integer on a table containing one row per property).
-Schema needs to be normalized.
-Data types should be as restrictive as possible. Use the smallest number of data types you can reasonably get away with.
-Each table should have the appropriate unique keys.
-Relationships between tables should be reflected by foreign key constraints.
-Values that are essentially enumerations in the specification (e.g., LET_TYPE_ID which can be 0 – Not Specified 1 – Long Term 2 – Short Term 3 – Student 4 – Commercial) should be modelled by its own table containing IDs and textual representations. The mother table will refer just to the ID.
-Create statements to import all objects into MySQL.
Second, we need a C# application to parse such a data file, and load its contents into the DB, using the above created schema.
-Hibernate for database connectivity – define objects that correspond to tables in schema in a reasonable fashion.
-Mysql connector .net.
-We require good unit test coverage of all functionality and common error scenarios
-Raise exceptions for errors or inconsistencies in the data file, or missing/misnamed image files.
The budget for this project is $500.
