This is iteration 6 of a larger web development project for a new online web service. The first 5 iterations focused on developing a basic social networking web application that will be the hub for a number of web applications designed for Xethnic’s target users. The primary goal of iteration 6 is to add new features that help people in coaching, mentoring and other small group relationships connect, collaborate and keep their information online for easy access and sharing, including tools for managing coaching plans, organizing into groups of two or more and keeping up with information for the meetings.
The software development effort consists of the following high-level tasks:
1. Adding six new views to the existing MVC5 application
2. Adding a new controller to handle the coaching page requests and responses
3. Adding the new models for the coaching data
4. Designing and implementing the required data tables in Azure Table Storage
Xethnic will provide layered PSD files for the main screens. The existing application provides extensive patterns, classes, style sheets, and resources that can be reused to develop this application. It is expected that this existing code can be reused to greatly reduce the level of effort and testing for this project. Below is a list of the major classes in the existing software that can be reused for a substantial portion of the new pages:
1. A text box control that handles inline HTML formatting as required for the coaching pages
2. An HTML sanitizer class that can be reused with minor modifications
3. An image processing class that uses the [url removed, login to view] library
4. An image container for display of images in edit and view mode
5. An HTML rollout page that can be used as a pattern for new rollout pages
6. List controls that can be reused to show lists of people, such as connected members and group members
7. Microblogging classes that can be used for microblogging within the coaching web application
A detailed specification is provided to define the pages and elements to be developed in this project. Please note that while the design brief is 85 pages, a substantial portion of the content is focused on clearly defining the project management details and the current concept of operation for the software. Additionally, the specification uses an extensive number of example screenshots, mockups and tables to clearly describe the software to be developed.
Xethnic will select the winning bidder based on its assessment of the best value for the price. The following evaluation factors will be used:
1. How well the bidder demonstrates an understanding of the project scope
2. The bidder’s experience in the tools and technologies required for the project
3. Lowest price
Bidders are encouraged to ask questions. Additionally, bidders are requested to describe their experience with the required tools and technologies in their bid. Bidders with past experience in the required skills as demonstrated through Freelancer’s rating systems will be evaluated higher than those who have no demonstrable experience.
