Hi should be easy, need a cross over network cable (if direct connection) or a switch/hub, same ip range/subnet on the nas and workstation, do a simple ping test. make sure firewalls are off for testing purposes.

Did you take to give same ip range to freenas and Windows 10. And you have to use cross cable. Maybe your Network card is not supported automatic crossng.
