This is a very simple app.
We need an absolutely fool-proof, fail-safe executable
that creates a Bookmark link in Netscape (NS4 - NS7) and
Mozilla (incl. Firefox)... if they're installed. (NOT MSIE.)
Background:
Our client deals with a lot of newbies who don't know how to
create a Bookmark, so they'd like a simple .exe file that installs
the link automatically. All the user has to do is run the app.
How it should work:
When the .exe is downloaded and run, the app installs
a link inside the Netscape (if it exists) folder called "Bookmarks > Personal Toolbar Folder" AND inside the Mozilla folder (if it exists) called "Bookmarks > Bookmarks Toolbar Folder."
When it's done, a little popup box should say "Installation Complete."
The name and link will be the same, and won't change,
so it can be hardcoded into the app. You can use any name and link as a test. Once we see that it works, we'll send you the actual link URL/name, or we can just edit and recompile ourselves.
Error trapping, etc.:
Understand... the people who use this are too dumb to
create their own bookmark. So this has to work
without requiring any special (ie, runtime) files, or
any THINKING whatsoever! It must be easy and bulletproof.
Thanks for bidding!
