SQL server errors after replacing domain controller

I have replaced my windows 2000 server domain controller with a windows 2003 server domain controller, and now I am having problems with sql 2005. Under sql security I am trying to add a new login, I can search and find entries from active directory, but when I click ok to add the user I get this error...

Windows NT user or group 'NFWP\line12qc' not found. Check the name again. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 15401)

I need help fixing this. I think it has something to do with sql not looking at the new active directory or being confused between the two. I have completely removed the 2000 domain controller from the network, and rebooted the sql server with the new domain controller installed.

Just looking for some help fixing this.
