vBulletin 3.6.5 SQL optimization

Greetings! I'm looking for ways to reduce the SQL load of vBulletin 3.6.5. I have already implemented a number of "caching" and template pre-compiling tricks, and done just about everything in the vBulletin admin panel that can be done to reduce SQL load. However, I believe there may be some functions or SQL queries or PHP code blocks that can be either (a) eliminated completely, (b) optimized, or (c) cached (i.e., the result of a code block would be cached in a file for later retrieval, so that the SQL is not unnecessarily re-executed). I'd like someone to look at the vBulletin 3.6.5 code to determine where and how such improvements could be made. I would like "step by step" solutions for implementing such improvements, like: 1) open file [login to view URL], change change this line ... to this: ... 2) open file... etc. I would be satisfied with 5 such optimizations to vBulletin 3.6.5, ideally resulting in at least a 5% overall SQL reduction. As I've noted, I have ALREADY made every possible optimization that is available in the vBulletin admincp area... I'm now looking for more detailed, PHP-specific solutions that actually require changing PHP code itself.
