QR Code Reader

Hello Freelancers, We're looking for a solution to read QR Codes from a Webcam. We have found software and development kits to do this but our requirements are not quite met and we don't have the necessary programming skills to complete the job. This should be relatively simple for the appropriate programmer as the pieces of the puzzle exist but need to be built into an application. Application: We have built a custom Joomla Website to provide a touch screen information kiosk fed from a central website. We wish customers to scan QR Codes (on Brochures) via an inbuilt webcam, the QR Code will then re-direct using the default browser to the URL embedded in the QR Code. This will typically be to a URL within our Kiosk system that will display a video. Deliverables: Option 1: The application must run as a service, run in the background, constantly scan for the QR Code and re-direct without any interaction. It must restart itself when not scanning (if necessary) This can be .Net or whatever. Option 2: The application runs from our Website (Joomla Module, Java, PHP) and uses Windows WIA and com objects to take control of the local webcam, this then performs tasks as described above. Currently we have found Quickmark to be the closet to what we need. I'd recommend looking at this. InliteResearch provide a .Net, ASP or PHP SDK to implement their version. We haven't played with some of the others. Ideally we would prefer to use [login to view URL] as this has least licenses and open source so we can re-release the results of this.
