Java Swing/SWT developper

Our product is a user-friendly software for shop keepers, enabling them to easily publish their catalog on the Internet and receive orders. The look and feel of the application is close to an Instant Messaging software, except that orders are popping up, instead of chat messages. We are looking for a long-term relationship with a Java programmer to join the team developping the flagship product. The candidate will interact frequently with the person in charge of the project, and his work will be critical for the success of the project. The first assignment is not UI-related: it consists in designing and developping the model part of the application. The required skills are an excellent knowledge of Java and architecture skills. Important: we will first hire our candidate for one week as a test. Please bid for 40 hours of work. Extra time will then be paid as bonuses. Requirements: - 4 years of experience or more in Java programming - Mastery of software architecture and design patterns - Good knowledge of either Swing or SWT - Available at least 30 hrs/week for the next 6 months - Independent freelance (no company) Other skills: - Good English communication ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
