Introduction: The final bidder is going to make an online recorder using Java applet for foreign language learning purposes. The combination of Java and Flash or other suggestions are considered as well, Flash alone wouldn’t achieve the functions we want. The recorder will record, playback and do “pitch/frequency detection?? by using “Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)??graphically. It should work with main stream browsers such as IE(all 3.0 +), Firefox (all 1.0 +), Safari (all 2.0+) for Windows, OSX and Linux without having to install additional programs, for this reason the final coder should avoid use Java Media Framework(JMF) and only use the JavaSound API standard.
