MySQL/PHP Connection

I need a MySQL expert to help me resolve a PHP to MySQL authentication problem. I have a PHP Login script that logs into my control panel that used to work fine on another server (32-bit). But after I upgraded and changed to new server (64-Bit), it seems like it does connect and I can see all my databases and tables with no errors, but I keep getting "Invalid Username/Password". I am sure I am connecting to the database but it does not recognize the login details for logging in. I need an expert that help me resolve this one issue. I will supply a temporary login to the server for the user so he can log in and fix issue.
