Website development and maintanance project

This project has been developed by another company, the client is not happy with the way the company has not delivered what they promised and how they keep ignoring their emails and not performing the work on time. As a result they have asked us to step in and help to continue develop the website from November 14th onwards. Until than we have the opportunity to review and familiarise ourselves with the website, this is a Joomla website project, ask any questions, and ask to have anything explained or corrected before we jump in and maintain and further develop the project for the client. We need to use this time wisely as when we take over the client will expect a quick turn around and prompt updates. We will need to work with the current system as is. Later down the track, once the client is happy with the functionality, we will continue to develop the site and it’s features, custom built modules, further using the Joomla system. There will be a lot of custom built features and components which you will quote on a task by task basis. The website is very feature packed and there are a lot of systems working together to produce the end result. I will, for each task/feature provide you with a details functionality brief, i will need for you to estimate how long and how much each element will take to develop as to give the client an accurate quote estimate. So far we only have the Joomla admin and website Manager log details, please use these to familiarise yourself as much as possible with the current system and how it has been developed, as we take over the website cPanle login will also become available. Although I imagine this website will look very similar to any other Joomla configuration. The current developers look to have struggled in achieving this so we will have some cleaning up to do. I am open to options and advice on how this can best be achieved. although rebuilding the system is not possible.
