**Apply Digital Signature to PDF****:**
For the existing PDF document format/template there are two user input options for user to apply his/her signature. And these options are:
1. User can input signature value by simple textbox for its replacement in predefine PDF document.
2. User can assign signature value by means of signature pad/touch screen device.
Once above input is available system starts its signature operations for the pre-format PDF document with showing all signature tag with some marking inside the source PDF and start replacement one by one with confirmation of user. User will be asked to weather accept or reject the signature insertion and move to next location and so on
Signatures are placed at signature fields but which signature fields to be updated (with actual signature value) that decision will be made based on “**certain fields**?? in the PDF document. For example if there is a spouse name value present in one of the fields we will place signature on the spouse signature field. I will send you sample documents as soon as we finalize.
NOTE: we don’t want user to save the document if the signature are not accepted or missing.
Also document must not be modifiable changeable at all. Timestamp date pc mac address(log IP: in phase 2) and any info we can make it look secure would be nice. As you have done DRM application so you know, nothing complicated.
We have to first develop standalone application which will open PDF document and read its signature as a source to verify the expected functionality of digital signature(with .Net framework) and then upload that PDF onto a specified server using FTP/HTTP.
To accept users’ signature value from the physical device (either signature pad or touch screen),
Plug-in should only work with pdf documents that are intended for that plug-in.
Under a quick demo you need to provide a working application that can read a PDF for its signature fields and it can also read digital signature data from digital signature pad / and user can be able to sign the PDF for the selected signature field using this application.
Above quick demo covers overall requirement of the application but still it will not be the full application with all the requirements.
**2nd phase ??" Application functionality as browser plug-in for PDF**
I am considering that once the above desktop application working fine for our required functionality then we will have to integrate finalized functionality as browser plug-ins.
End user has to download this plug-in and they need to add it as browser add-on to use this PDF digital signature functionality for that web site.
When user will open a PDF in browser using this plug-in above required digital signature should be fulfilled and PDF should be saved again to server.
There might be some small details that I will finalize as soon as I get the feedback from the customer after the preliminary demo. But most part that all. There are tiny details that plug-in should be able to check for updates before every run. We should use HTTP to save the document to avoid any firewall setting etc. I am sure you are aware on these points but any case we will go in detail as soon as we start the second phase.
NOTE : please see an example of just user signature insertion
