I need a function/algorithm that generates a serial code, and a function or algorithm that verifies that the generated code was ok, to be used for simple software licensing. I need working generation and verification code in PHP and C#.
Ideally, a private key would be used to generate a serial code, while a matching public key, which can be included in some software, is used to verify that the serial code is authentic.
This way, even someone who knows how the algorithm works won't be able to guess the private key to generate a serial code. Also, with public and private keys, it's not possible to generate a valid serial code using the public key.
The software key will not rely on anything other than the private key. Specifically, it will not use any hardware codes from the computer the software is installed on.
## Deliverables
The C# code should be included in a simple GUI or command-line app that demonstrates generation and verification.
The PHP code should be included in a simple web interface or command-line app that demonstrates generation and verification.
