I'm a serial entrepreneur, and have decided to build a social networking site as my next venture.
The site would be somewhat the same format as [url removed, login to view], except with a different topic focus. I would like to have three distinct sections. The first section would allow us to post user generated links/short descriptions for articles from other sites. There would be 5 tabs/sections to divide the content by sub topic. The next section (under a 6th tab) would be a blog, which would allow my associates and myself to have a running commentary. The third section (under a 7th tab) would be forum, where we, and our members could comment on topics of the members interest... For the first and second sections, content that was more than 7 days old would go into various topic specific pages in archives folders on the right hand side. The links and blog section would allow for users to comments on the articles - only if they were members. Membership would be free (no need for finance system), but we would need to have a simple registration form to sign people up. The initial revenue model would simply be ad banners. We, of course, would like the site to be easy to maintain, so that we could easily screen, or delete inappropriate user comments. I would also like to allow user's to give the thumbs up/vote on articles, like "diggs" on [url removed, login to view], but this will depend on price - if you could please discuss this option in your bid. I would be interested in a separate quote for "search optimization" if you do this as well. My time frame is likely within the next 2-4 weeks. Design/look of the site will not be of big importance. Bigger issue is getting the site up, user friendly, admin friendly, in a cost effective manner. Preference to those with previous experience with social networking sites. Examples of past experiences much appreciated.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
