XML sitemap, SEO and duplicate content issues OSCommerce sit

1. I need sitemaps according to protocol for my OScommerce site (s). 2. Duplicate content / SEO targetting for different languages: I have one database with 3 copies of the site for 3 different languages, each site a full copy with its own URL, but with the config pointing at the same database. I did this to have spiders follow a language specific thread for each site, so that the italian version of the site would be indexed in google with italian words, the french with french and so on. But of course, its not working that way! I need a solution to get google to look at the french content for the french site and the italian content for the italian site and the english content for the english site. As it is, it seems to be looking at all languages for all sites, and the seo results have tumbled, I believe as a result -- the content is more watered down because of all the extra language pages being indexed. Also I am afraid of duplicate content issues amongst other things. I don't know if this is a simple as fiddling with the canonical values, or specifying all links in the sitemaps with a "?language=fr" after every link, or if something more intense is needed. If the solution could include keeping all the sites in one copy rather than three (like with alterations in the base [login to view URL], i saw a contribution on that, but feared it would then leave me with just the english being considered by google) I need an expert to look at the set up and advise the best course of action. SEO headers and SEO URLs are both installed, as well as a number of other contributions. Sites are: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] I also have copies at [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] which can be used as testing groungs if necessary, though inexplicably [login to view URL] is showing up in google where the others are not. Perhaps because it is a few days older... I don't know how complex this is. It could be very simple, or it could just not. I am putting the budget low because I don't have much to spend, but if the situation is more complex and would need more budget, please explain in a message.
