Fix issue with Magento plugin not running with cron

We use the boostmyshop Embedded ERP plugin to manage our inventory with Magento but the background tasks are not running automatically. Magento [url removed, login to view] is scheduling the task, but the task is not completing. There seems to be something blocking the cronjob according to the developers but cronjobs from other plugins are working fine. I need an expert with Magento to diagnose and fix the issue. We are using Magento 1.6.2 CE.
