This is a telecommuting position for a talented individual contractor from anywhere in the world. Plum will offer one-week paid trials to qualifying candidates. ABOUT PLUM Plum is a Web bookmarking service that allows users to put all of their favorite stuff in one place, including web pages, photos, email, music, blog posts and feeds. The Plummer is a client that runs on the user’s computer and makes it easy to grab Web pages, links, photos, email, and other objects, and add them to a Plum collection. ## Deliverables TASK The candidate will build the PC Plummer. It will work as an Internet Explorer plugin, and as a stand-alone client, implemented as a band tool or floating window. Tasks will include: * Debugging the C++ prototype * Adding features to the prototype * Building a new, branded install package * Creating and implementing an architecture to extend the Plummer with VBscript to grab new types of items * Participating in the team with daily commits and discussion DEVELOPER REQUIREMENTS * Talented Windows programmer. We are looking for developers in the top 10% of all talent. * Can write C++ windowing applications. Can build IE plugins. Can build a complete product, including the installer. * Familiar with Web services APIs * Knowledge of javascript * Has Visual Studio and knows how to use it. * Has experience working in a distributed team. Knows how to use subversion and issue tracking systems. * Has broadband networking and a development workstation. 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
