I need a demonstration mini-project coded in Visual Basic 6, to teach me how to get started.
1) in 3D Max, create a sphere to represent a head and cylinder running through the sphere, sticking out of both sides of the sphere, to represent ears. Put 2 tiny spheres in front, to represent eyes.? Save this in a .X file. It should measure about 8 cm on the screen. It should have a light source illuminating it to put a little shading on the surface of the sphere.
2) Write a simple visual basic program that shows a form with a button that says: Show DirectX. Clicking it will make another window appear, (Not full-screen, windowed-mode), containing a DirectX 3D? view of the object from the .X file.? Another button called: Eyes.? click it and the eyes change position, moving slightly higher.? click it again, and the eyes move back down, etc.
Another button: Show OpenGL,? will make the DirectX window disappear,? and open another window, and show the object using OpenGL code.? ? clicking the Eyes button, will move the eyes using openGL code this time.
If you can do DirectX or OpenGL but not both, bid anyway.?
(This is for windows XP, directX 9.)
While the object is showing in the windowed mode graphics window, run a VB6 Timer on an interval of 1000 milliseconds, that changes the viewer's position, ever so slightly, up or down,? to simulate the appearance of an unsteady camerman..? which will let the 3D perspective be easy to appreciate.? Thanks!
