I need help with a simple mod-rewrite to redirect seo friendly urls to not so friendly mysql database urls.
I've read up on the subject and I have created an extra field in the database that will hold a seo friendly url path, I need the mod-rewrite to be able to find out which new url path matches the primary id number in the database.
I've played around it with some and was able to get a rough redirect working with this code however it doesn't work on all of the records in the database for whatver reason.
Someone with mod_rewrite experience? can probably do this in a few lines of code no problem...my dynamic page is called [login to view URL] and I have over 1,000,000 records in the database
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule? ? ? ^details/([0-1000000]+)/?$? ? ? [login to view URL]$1? ? ? [NC,L]? ?
This code just puts a number at the end and does away with the ?id=1.
The extra field in the database is called pageurl
Should be an easy project for someone who knows what they are doing....
