You have already took two important steps we would have first taken. that is disabling plugin and making a fresh setup. so now for me to do next is to apply default theme and see if it works if not then must be something in database. if with default theme it works then it must be the issue in theme tempaltes. we can try our way and let you know if we can take your job. can we chat now ?
