Making adjustments to a Magento website and create a payment extension

Recently a new payment method was introduced. We have an api to connect to this payment method. The api works and we tested it. We now have to make an extension to magento to sent the user to the payment platform and update the order after payment. We need help with this. Furthermore we have some work to the magento order process. We would like to add delivery appointments. This means that the customer can choose when he/she wants to receive the order. Based upon the order time the delivery dates kan change (e.g. ordering between 8:00-17:00 means you can make an appointment for the next day. Ordering after 5 means you can make an appointment, after 48 hours)
