We are looking to create a JS tracing that cookies a user then tracks that users path in the site. If the user fills out a form on the site some of the data the tracking has collected should be [login to view URL] the form . Main thing we are looking to track is where the vistor came from. We want the tracking so that if they leave and return to the site that we still capture that information if they convert. for example: A visitor hits our site from a Facebook link.-> that link is to a landing page that page has FB tracking on it so if they immediately convert we have the info we need however if thet leave that page and browse the site or anything besides converting then convert on a different page we want to know they came from the facebook link.. this is one example there will be many campaigns running thru multiple channels hence the desire for the tracking.. Included with this would be coding some interstitial popovers and disabling them if the visitor has subscribed or converted. I can give more detail later after NDA is in place

I don't know if you are wanting a custom solution but it sounds like Google Analytics tracking would be very useful for you. It does a lot of the heavy lifting for you.
