An established 501(c)3 nonprofit is expanding and needs a grant writer

Respectacle is a nonprofit that provides gently used eyeglasses to recipients in need at a nominal cost. It has operated with volunteers only for ten years and with increasing demand for the service and growing interest in the eyecare community, Respectacle is looking for a grant writer to research funding sources and write grants. The organization currently has only two employees for administration and technical support. Recently, a board of directors was organized and the nonprofit is poised to expand the scope of its mission. Respectacle was founded by and is still led by Jeffrey Lynch, MD, a pediatric ophthalmologist practicing in the Twin Cities of Minnesota and in western Wisconsin. Volunteer groups exist in several states including California and Missouri, Minnesota and Wisconsin, where glasses are collected, sorted and sent to a central location at the headquarters in Hudson, Wisconsin for final processing and distribution. The spectacles are matched with recipients online through photographs provided on the website and presciptions provided by the recipients. A small fee is collected to defray shipping costs. My name is Evan A Ballard, MD, a retired ophthalmologist and former partner of Dr. Lynch. I serve as a member of the board of directors. We look forward to receiving proposals for assisting us with researching and writing the grants that will allow this valuable nonprofit service to reach more people who need eyewear that will allow them to meet their visual needs affordably.
