Project is to provide a program to gather complete product information from a specific Vendor web site. The Product information will be formatted in a XLS file such that it can be imported into the product database and displayed in our shopping cart program, VirtueMart.
Given a product price list in XLS format containing some product information (specified), the program must create a XLS spreadsheet with the specified fields and copy the product image to a subdirectory. The current pricing is also an input. The New Output's price is either the current outputs price, or the pricelists price * parameter.
The Product Description is one of the fields scraped from the vendor site. It must be cleaned up to display nicely on our site. This involves modifying the HTML so that it is displayed nicely and uniformly. Links are removed.
The program will be run from my computer. If the program is not in Java, the necessary execution system needs to be provided.
