Implement gifting products in Shopify store

Hi, we want to add gifting functionality to our Shopify-based web store. We would like to be able to activate it for specific products, ideally it would be very easy to do so. Our products are a mix of standard products and online courses, so in addition to the usual "send someone else a gift" option, we also want to be able to gift people an online course by sending them some sort of one-time code which they can then use at our web store (and be able to choose the email they want to receive the gifts at).
We will want to customize all the buttons and all of the emails that are going to the gifter/giftee. We can do either a customized solution or something off the rack, as long as it works and is easy for us to use after the contract has concluded.
