I have recently worked on and completed a project in which I used Arduino interfaced with XBee for wireless communication. Implementing this project will be quite straight forward based on your description of your requirement. Please, can you also clarify further what you will like to achieve with this communication? We can implement this project by programming one of the Arduino UNO as a MASTER and the other as a SLAVE. The communication will be two-way communication and control commands can be sent from the MASTER to the SLAVE and vise-versal. This way you can control an external device connected to the Arduino for example.

Hello im Salman Mansoor im new here on Freelancing but have done alot of work on arduino i will provide you with the code that will use SPI Protocol for communication between two Arduinos. Here one Arduino will act as Master and another one will act as Slave, two LEDs and push buttons will be connected to both the arduinos. To demonstrate SPI communication, we will control master side LED by the push button at slave side and vice versa using the SPI Serial communication protocol. i will also provide you with the schematic diagram of the project. it will be done in no time. enable the chat if you have any querries.

I will implement a set of generic functions to exchange values and text variables between the Arduinos (writing and reading). The master sends a request to read or write, passing the "address" of the variable and in the cleinte it arrives as a callback function, which implements the reading by type (int, long, char []).
