Hi, I happen to have a side project about recognizing a keyword on Raspberry pi. The goal is to turn on/off a lamp over voice control. I connected a microphone to Rpi and used google API for voice recognition. Maybe I can share the code with you and assist you finish your project. Feel free to contact me if you have any question.
