Set up a SpamAssassin + ASSP + ClamAV gateway in a 64-bit Fedora 17 server

The worker must set up an antispam gateway using SpamAssassin, ClamAV and ASSP ([url removed, login to view]).

This server has a public IPv4 IP which gets email messages via SMTP and must filter them for spam and virus, header-tagging them and resending them to the corresponding SMTP server.

The worker will log in as root in a fresh install of Fedora 17 and set up Spamassassin, ASSP ([url removed, login to view]) and ClamAV providing scripts to control the gateway.

We are open about the SMTP server used but would prefer qmail or postfix.

The gateway will log its operations (message accepted, rejected, ...).

Command line scripts (or clear instructions) must be provided to let the operator:

1. add,update or delete a domain with its SMTP IP.

2. add, update or delete an email account.

3. browse logs for a domain or email account.

4. browse queues of pending messages.

5. purge queues of pending messages.

6. fetch statistics (messages processed, messages tagged, ...)

7. update RBL servers.

The gateway must reject any spam/infected message in the SMTP session. Any message not rejected must be delivered to the server, whether tagged or not.

The gateway must not send bounce messages. Never.

Bash command line history and support scripts used will be preserved for auditing of the work.

Features that will be well considered are:

1. Scripts to check-update and update the system

2. Customizable use of RBL checks (to reject or just tag)

3. Customize headers (i.e. adding "X-Antispam-Gateway: Yes")

4. Support for running external scripts in some events (i.e. when a message comes in run [url removed, login to view], when a message has a virus run [url removed, login to view], when a message is tagged as spam run...)

5. Additional SpamAssassin rulesets

6. IPv6 support

7. Any feature suggested by the worker

## Deliverables

POP+IMAP service is provided by a different server, not this one.

This server will only be an antispam+antivirus gateway.

Sender creates a message in Outlook

sends it through its ISP's SMTP servers
