Retreive Numerical Value From Weight Scale Through Serial Port Using VB2008 - Tech Data Provided

A Scale Indicator is a device that is connected to a weight scale that displays the current weight that is on the scale.

All of the Scale Indicators have the ability to continousely transmit data through the serial port. Not all Scale Indicators Manufacturers output the data in the same format.

I am unfamilliar with working with serialport communication and I need an expert.

I have attached to this listing the technical data from four Scale Indicators as well as a VB2008 project template that I would like to be used for this project.

The Values I need returned from the scale indicator is the weight as well as whether it is a stable weight or not.

I have direct access to the scale indicators and will be able to test all pre-build applications.

A sample of the output string for the FB2250 Scale Indicator is below

A = Status Word A

B = Status Word B

C = Status Word C

W = Displayed Weight

T = Tare Weight

This application must be done in Visual Basic using Visual Studio 2008 and be well documented and must successfully retreive the correct weights from all four of the scale indicators provided in the zip file.

When availabe the application must also indicate whether the scale weight is Stable.
